About this camp

At Club SciKidz Atlanta's Drone Piloting Summer Camp, middle school campers delve into the exciting world of aerial robotics and aviation. Through engaging, hands-on challenges, participants learn to build, program, and pilot quadcopters. The curriculum focuses on practical applications, including running test scenarios for safety, search and rescue missions, and navigating obstacle courses. Campers gain an understanding of aerodynamics and develop essential flight skills by learning to fly and land Tello Boost drones. A key highlight is the opportunity for multiple teams to design and construct a quad rotor tailored for a specific first responder mission. By the end of the week, each camper will have operated and built their own hand-size quadcopter to take home, fostering a lasting interest in science, math, and engineering career fields.
