About this camp

The Spelman College Computer Science Summer Program is a no-cost, six-week residential program designed for incoming first-year students interested in computer science. The program offers an academically intensive experience, including mathematics preparation to enhance algorithmic thinking skills and a credit-bearing computer science course. Participants engage in applied workshops covering cybersecurity, robotics, and data analytics, directed by Spelman faculty and staff. What a typical day looks like

A typical day starts with breakfast around 8:00 a.m. in the Manley dining hall, followed by approximately three hours of academic coursework in computer science and mathematics. After lunch, students participate in 'growth blocks' focusing on leadership, social-emotional skills, and professional development, or attend teacher-assisted study halls. Evenings include dinner, fellowship, team-building activities, or independent study.
